Kerio MailServer provides push email and wireless groupware data synchronization (via Active Sync) for the most popular smartphones and smartphone operating systems, including Apple iPhone, Blackberry, Windows Mobile, Palm, and Symbian.
 

What is Push?

New email, meeting invitations, and event changes are immediately pushed over-the-air to the mobile device without having to wait for a manual or scheduled sync.

What is Exchange ActiveSync?

Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync® is a server-side technology that lets Exchange ActiveSync-enabled devices synchronize mailbox items through a wireless connection without using a desktop computer, cradle, and desktop synchronization software.

Kerio MailServer supports Exchange ActiveSync in much the same way as Microsoft Exchange Server.

Using the cellular or WiFi network, email can be reached wirelessly from Apple iPhone's built-in email client or Safari for Kerio WebMail. Supported protocols includes POP3, IMAP4, SMTP and HTTP.
Calendar and Contact Synchronization

Both Windows and Mac users can synchronize Calendar and Contacts with Apple iPhone.
Microsoft Outlook

Using Apple iTunes (version 7.3 or later), two-way synchronization can be configured for Microsoft Outlook and Apple iPhone.
Apple Address Book and Apple iCal

Apple iTunes (version 7.3 or later) is also used for configuring two-way synchronization between Apple Address Book, Apple iCal and Apple iPhone.
Microsoft Entourage

Once Apple Address Book and Apple iCal are synchronized with Apple iPhone, Calendar and Contacts can be synchronized with Microsoft Entourage through Sync Services.

Palm Treo (Native Support)

Push Email with Palm Treo

The latest Palm Treo™ smartphones running Palm OS ship with a Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync® client allowing users to push email and wirelessly synchronize their local contacts and calendars with a back-end server. Kerio MailServer talks directly to Palm Treo smartphones utilizing the Exchange ActiveSync protocol. There's no need for additional software or service.
System Requirements

Push email requires the VersaMail 3.5 email client which ships with Palm Treo 680, Palm Treo 700p and Palm Treo 755p.
You will need to install Exchange ActiveSync (EAS) Update to add Direct Push features to your Palm Treo 680 (Unlocked GSM), Palm Treo 700p and Palm Treo 650.

The Palm VersaMail 3.5 Support page will give you instructions on how to purchase and install VersaMail 3.5 on Palm Treo 650.

Try Exchange ActiveSync with Treo

Make sure you have VersaMail 3.5 installed on your Palm Treo smartphone. In the account setup of VersaMail, choose Exchange ActiveSync as the Mail Service type and enter in your username, password, email address and your Kerio MailServer address.

Push Email with Windows Mobile®

Windows Mobile ships with a Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync® client. Kerio MailServer talks directly to Windows Mobile smartphones and PDA utilizing the Exchange ActiveSync protocol to provide push email, PIM data synchronization and remote wipe.
Microsoft has released several versions of Windows Mobile with different versions of Exchange ActiveSync. Kerio MailServer supports Windows Mobile 2002, Windows Mobile 2003, Windows Mobile 2003 SE, Windows Mobile 5.0, Windows Mobile 5.0 with MSFP (Messaging and Security Feature Pack), and Windows Mobile 6.0.

Try Windows Mobile

Find the ActiveSync dialog in Start/Programs and enter in your login name, password and server name of your Kerio MailServer. Your email will be pushed to Outlook Mobile, and depending on your Windows Mobile version, you will have your calendar, contacts and tasks synchronized.

Blackberry (Requires third-party software. iMailetc recommends AstraSync™)

AstraSync™ is a new software plug-in for BlackBerry® Smartphones that performs two-way over-the-air synchronization of email, calendar and contact data with a Microsoft Exchange, MailSite Fusion, CommuniGate Pro or Kerio server.

AstraSync does this by implementing the Exchange ActiveSync and DirectPush protocols. AstraSync can be downloaded over-the-air and runs silently in the background on the BlackBerry® Smartphone. Users can configure the name of the ActiveSync server, their username and password and can select which data they wish to synchronize.

How is it better than BES or BIS?

Customers can realize many benefits by not using the BlackBerry Enterprise Server or Internet Service. Costs are dramatically lower since the BES license costs are substantial. Reliability is substantially higher since there are 50% fewer components to fail. Users are more productive since the inbox, calendars and contacts are always 100% in sync and it is no longer necessary to manage a duplicate inbox on the Smartphone.

Kerio Smart Wipe

In event the device is lost or stolen, Kerio's Smart Wipe data security feature lets administrators delete all email, calendar, contact and task data from all Windows Mobile devices and all Windows Mobile operating systems. On devices running Windows Mobile 6.0 or 5.0 with the Messaging and Security Feature Pack (MSFP), Smart Wipe will perform a factory reset, deleting all data and settings, including pictures and files.
